What to bring

Food – Bring enough for each meal for the duration of your dog’s stay. If they run out, I will feed them dry food that I have on hand at a daily rate of $2. You can have the food in individual, pre-portioned containers or bring the whole bag & a scoop

Bed – if your dog has a favorite bed, bring it with them! Just make sure you trust them with it in their kennel.

Collar with ID tag – Your dog will not be wearing this while sleeping, but it is needed for when they are on field trips or if they are a flight risk

Medications – If your dog is on medication that will need to be given while they are with us, please send it with them. This includes any preventatives (heartworm, flea, tick). We want our furry friends to stay healthy

What should you NOT bring for your dog’s stay?

Bowls – we have plenty of stainless-steel bowls for each dog. Plus a selection of slow feeder and puzzle toys. You can leave yours at home

Toys – I have a whole collection of plush, tough, and brain-working toys to keep your dog happy. Leave their favorites at home for playtime when you get back.

Valuable/Sentimental Items – if it’s a really special something or something that you would not like to get ruined, keep it home for safekeeping. We will do our best to send everything home in the condition it came in, but accidents do happen.

What can you bring (optional) for your dog’s stay?

Treats – bring a few varieties that your dog loves! They will thank you for it!

Chew Bone - You can bring a non-edible chew (Benebone, Bambone, Nylabone, etc.) that you trust your dog to have in their kennel.

How much playtime will my dog get?

We typically have 3 play sessions throughout the day (morning, afternoon, & evening). Depending on the weather and the dogs, we are outside anywhere from 30 minutes to 1 hour and 30 minutes per session. Your dog will get bathroom breaks between play sessions if needed

Where will my dog sleep?

Each dog will get their own 4-foot by 4-foot kennel space in our dog room. Larger dogs can enjoy our 4-foot by 8-foot kennel for added comfort. Smaller dogs and young puppies may be placed in a smaller kennel for their safety. Our dog room sits next to our main house and yard. It is fully climate-controlled with a Waggle temperature monitor installed. The dog room is monitored by our ADT security system (fire alarm, carbon monoxide detector, and alarms on the windows and doors.). We have additional cameras throughout the building to view the dogs when we are not directly supervising them. We aren’t a fancy facility but the dogs don’t seem to mind.

What vaccines are required?

We require a current Rabies and Distemper/Parvo vaccination for all dogs in our care. Bordetella (Kennel Cough), Canine Influenza, and Leptospirosis vaccinations are highly recommended, at your veterinarian’s discretion and advice. We also accept an antibody titer showing adequate levels of immunity for three years post-sample date, unless your veterinarian recommends otherwise. Please email proof of vaccination to mangosdogboarding@gmail.com before your dog’s stay.

Do we offer day camp?

We do offer day camp for dogs who have previously stayed with us. They must be scheduled on a regular weekly basis to be eligible for day camp.

Do we board dogs who do not like other dogs?

This is answered on a case-by-case basis and depends on the severity of the dog’s aggression or reactivity and the number of other dogs we have staying with us. Any dog with a bite history toward humans or other dogs will not be accepted. Safety is our number one priority for everyone.

What payment methods are accepted?

We prefer cash payments and offer a 15% discount on listed prices. Venmo & checks are also accepted at 5% discount on listed prices. If needed, we can take credit and debit card payments through Square.
